Discovery:

The Anix is a former American rock band and currently a solo electronic project run by Los Angeles-based music producer Brandon Smith who was originally the band’s frontman.

Their album “Sleepwalker” released in 2011, received praise in the gaming community. The song “Warning Signs” was included in the soundtrack of Mass Effect: Paragon Lost.

The Challenge:

Create a unique and engaging brand experience. Make the website exciting and alive. Create a reason that fans would want to explore the rest of the website. Provide a platform for press releases, news and updates to be delivered in a modern and scalable format.

Fast approaching deadline to align with release of new upcoming album and label promotions.

To keep the site engaging the thought was to have the site constantly in a state of flux therefore giving the perception that the site always has something new to offer.

The Solution:

WordPress was chosen as the most scalable and reliable platform that would also provide the launching point for press releases, news and updates.

To keep the site engaging the thought was to have the site constantly in a state of flux therefore giving the perception that the site always has something new to offer.

To accomplish this the clients current Instagram account was incorporated as a grid section onto the homepage design. The functionality is dynamic and in real time (this works great for those active on Instagram) so anytime a post is updated on the specified instagram account it is instantly updated on the websites homepage also.

HTML 5 background video was also used for the desktop experience while the mobile view utilized a shortened animated GIF – This was later determined to increase initial load times and was subsequently replaced with a static image.

The Results:

The items or strategy chosen provided a quick Solution that fit within the timeline and to deliver the best user experience on desktop and mobile while also tying in other functional aspects of the brands promotional workflow.
