The Challenge

Switching website platforms and moving to a more expandable and development friendly environment while also re designing the website and branding to focus on Health and Wellness as opposed to the current Fitness persona.

The current user experience is dated and had been mentioned in feedback by many of the several thousand customers that regularly frequent the site.

In addition to current inventory and user information being transferred securely there is also a need to focus largely on retaining current and accrued organic SEO.

The Solution

After researching several options we opted to move onto Shopify’s platform which provided less limitation for what we wanted to do programmatically.

The user experience was approached from a product first strategy. In addition to pop up promotional tools Pencil Banners were strategically placed within in the design.

For the design aspect a large percentage of the workout imagery was replaced with product and wellness imagery which helped address the intended messaging.

The user experience was approached from a product first strategy. In addition to pop up promotional tools Pencil Banners were strategically placed within in the design. Primarily in the homepage body and footer of the website.

Lastly an additional phase was included specifically dedicated to the migration of SEO content with the use of site map generation and 301 redirects.

The Results

All content, client lists, SEO was successfully migrated to Shopify’s platform. The design aesthetic has been re-designed to match the new company branding. The user experience has been carefully planned and developed for both mobile and desktop individually.

All pages and extensions were redirected to new and updated platform extensions. Product details and product reviews were successfully migrated.

In addition extra care was taken to make sure that certain sections including banner ads were created with HTML when able. This was to not only enhance SEO but also make the content translatable between languages.
